Interested in becoming a member of The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc.?
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc. Our club, established in 1922, is one of the oldest and largest clubs in the southeast. We are a very active organization, maintaining eight historic gardens in the city, among many other civic and community projects.
While we are always glad to welcome new members, the number of members in our Club is dictated by our By-laws and Constitution. In order to become a Provisional Member of The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc., your primary residence must be within the Tri-County area and you must personally know at least three active members of The Garden Club of Charleston. One member who is willing to serve as your primary sponsor, along with two members who will serve as your co-sponsors. Applicants are accepted in the order they are received, based on the number of vacancies in the club’s membership.
If accepted into the club and upon completion of the requirements of the Provisional year, active members are required to attend at last three (3) general meetings and serve on at least one (1) committee in order to remain an active member of The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc.
If you do not know any members of our club, you might consider joining a club in your neighborhood in order to meet fellow garden club members.
Please let us know if you have any questions, or if we can be of further help!
