The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc.’s scholarship program includes a Trident Technical College Foundation Scholarship, The Garden Club of South Carolina District Scholarship, and The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc. Scholarship. This is The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc.’s vision of “paying it forward” for future generations in our community.
The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc. scholarship is administered by the Club’s Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients must be currently pursuing a degree in horticulture, agriculture, agronomy, botany, city planning, floriculture, land management, landscape architecture, plant pathology, historic preservation, or other plant or gardening-related disciplines.
The committee’s goal is to award a $1500 scholarship annually and to eventually establish an endowment fund to expand scholarships to deserving recipients.
The Trident Technical College Award is administered by the Trident Technical Foundation and totals $1500.00
The Garden Club of South Carolina District Scholarship is supported by a $1000 donation and preference is given to a resident of Berkeley, Charleston, or Dorchester county.
The Garden Club of Charleston, Inc. Scholarship Award Overview
A one-year scholarship is available to applicants who meet the following criteria:
Preference is given but not limited to residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.
Must be enrolled as a full-time student of an accredited South Carolina institution with a minimum of 12 graded hours of classes as an undergraduate or 9 graded hours of classes as a graduate student.
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Must be working toward a degree related to gardening and/or environmental disciplines.
